Exceptional 1980s Lesage Paris bag crafted from dark blue denim and hand-embroidered with pop-art lips and an “OH!” speech bubble in densely worked iridescent micro-sequins and beads. Finished with a black leather handle connected by antique-finish double chains, allowing it to be carried on the shoulder, tucked under the arm or held by hand. Zip-top closure, fully lined in floral cotton with an interior slip pocket. An extremely rare archival piece in remarkable condition.

Maison Lesage is not a traditional handbag label, but the legendary Parisian embroidery atelier founded in 1924 by Albert and Marie-Louise Lesage, as the successor to the historic Michonet workshop established in 1858. Their son François Lesage later became one of the most celebrated embroiderers in haute couture, creating exceptional work for Schiaparelli, Balenciaga, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel. The Maison joined CHANEL’s Métiers d’art in 2002 to preserve its extraordinary savoir-faire. Signed Lesage accessories appear extremely rarely on the vintage market, making this 1980s bag a particularly remarkable collector’s piece.
